Asetek SimSports RMA / Warranty Procedure

  1. Asetek offers a two (2) year limited warranty as set out in the Asetek SimSports Warranty document
  2. Asetek’s warranty options are only eligible for Asetek SimSports branded hardware products, purchased through Asetek’s webshop (https://www.asetek.com/simsports/webshop/), which is confirmed by presenting proof of purchase. If you have purchased your Asetek SimSports branded hardware product through a reseller (retailer or e-tailer), please contact your reseller for any warranty claims.
  3. This Warranty does not apply;
    1. to products obtained from a source other than Asetek SimSports. If you bought the product from a reseller, you should contact the reseller directly;
    2. to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship;
    3. to damage caused by use with a third party component or product that does not meet the Asetek SimSports branded hardware Product’s specifications (Product specifications are available on the Asetek website);
    4. to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, fire, liquid contact, earthquake or other external cause;
    5. to damage caused by operating the Product outside Asetek’s published guidelines;
    6. to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Asetek;
    7. to defects caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of Asetek SimSports branded hardware products;
    8. if any serial number has been removed or defaced from the Asetek SimSports branded product;if Asetek receives information from relevant public authorities that the product has been stolen and you cannot prove in any way that you are the authorized user of the product (e.g. by presenting proof of purchase).
  4. To return defective products you must first contact Asetek SimSports’ support to get an RMA claim. We do not accept products that are returned without first having contacted support. Your request to support should at least contain the following details:
    1. Product serial number
    2. Order number
    3. A clear description of the complaint, and if possible images and/or video of the error
  5. Once we have accepted your RMA support request, we will provide you with an RMA number and return label.
    1. Domestic mail-in service: If Asetek determines that your Asetek SimSports branded hardware Product is eligible for domestic mail-in service, Asetek will send you instructions on how to properly pack and address your product. Instructions may be sent to you via email or other electronic means. Asetek will pay for shipping to and from your location. Asetek will not be liable for damages related to shipping due to insufficient packaging. Domestic mail-in service is primarily available if you and the product are in the country or customs region where the Product was sold.
    2. (International mail-in service: If Asetek determines that your Asetek SimSports hardware branded Product is eligible for international mail-in service, Asetek will send you instructions on how to properly pack and address your Product. Instructions may be sent to you via email or through other electronics means. You will be responsible to pay for shipping, handling and all applicable custom duties, VAT and other associated taxes and charges both to and from your location to the service location. Asetek will not be liable for damages related to shipping due to insufficient packaging.
    3. Service where Asetek requires return of the replaced Asetek SimSports brand hardware Product or part: Asetek will ship a replacement Product to you when the replaced Product is returned to Asetek. Asetek will provide prepaid shipping label.
    4. Service where Asetek does not require return of the replaced Product or part: Asetek will ship you free of charge a replacement product. Disposal of the defective Product should be handled as required by the WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) in your region.
    5. Asetek reserves the right to at its sole discretion change the method by which Asetek may provide warranty service to you, and your Product’s eligibility to receive a particular method of service. Service will be limited to replacement if warranty claim is approved. Part availability and response times may vary according to country. You may be responsible for shipping and handling charges if the Product cannot be reviewed in the country it is in. If you seek service in a country that is not the country of purchase, you will comply with all applicable import and export laws and regulations and be responsible for all custom duties, VAT and other associated taxes and charges. For international service, Asetek may replace your Product with comparable products and parts that comply with local standards.
  6. Please avoid damaging the products or packaging when returning the product to us. If possible, return the product in the original packaging with all accessories and packaging components. If needed, please use a protective outer packaging. If you no longer have the original packaging or it has become damaged, please use suitable packaging that provides adequate protection against damage during transport.
  7. After receipt of the defective products, Asetek SimSports will check them according to our standards.
  8. RMAs will be refused if:
    1. The product is worn out from use;
    2. The warranty date of the return product has expired;
    3. The returned product was not an original product;
    4. The returned product was not purchased through Asetek SimSports.
  9. For products purchased through a resellers, RMA handling will go through the reseller.
  10. If your RMA application is granted, Asetek SimSports will either;
    1. Replace the Product with the same model or formed from new and/or previously used parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability, or
    2. Repair the Product in accordance with our standard terms and conditions, or
    3. Asetek may request that you replace certain user-installable part (i.e. elastomer, spring). When the Asetek SimSports branded hardware product or part is replaced or a refund provided, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced or refunded item becomes Asetek’s property.
  11. If you are located outside the EU or the US, please keep the original export/import declaration (shipping paperwork) in case of a return. You may qualify to receive a refund on import duties paid. Please contact your local tax office.
  12. A replacement product will first be shipped to you once the RMA is received and inspected.
  13. If your RMA application was not granted, your product will be returned to you at your own expense.
