Steering Wheel Troubleshooting

Updated on May 30, 2024

Manual Update of Steering Wheel

If you are experiencing any issues with your steering wheel, it is always a good start to do a manual firmware update. This guide will help you manually updating your steering wheel, to make sure it has the latest version.

Prerequisites:

You must have installed the latest version of RaceHub™, to ensure the latest drivers are installed.

  1. Turn off the wheelbase and disconnect the steering wheel from the wheelbase.
  2. Open RaceHub™, if not already running.
  3. Turn on the wheelbase.
  4. Hold down the two uppermost buttons on the steering wheel (see picture below).
  5. While holding the two buttons, install the steering wheel onto the wheelbase.
  6. A dialog will pop up in RaceHub™, informing you that the steering wheel has been detected in update mode.
  7. Press “Update Steering Wheel”.
  8. Wait for the update to finish.

The pedals now have the latest firmware version, and the automatic update notification should now work for future updates.

My steering wheel don’t register in game

  1. Check if input is registered in RaceHub.
  2. Make sure the game is properly set up in the “Game Setup” menu in “Settings” in RaceHub.
  3. Look if a “Game setup” guide is available HERE.

Shift lights not working

If you are experiencing issues with the shift lights on your steering wheel, please check the following:

  1. Check if the shift lights are turned on in RaceHub.
  2. Make sure the game is properly set up in the “Game Setup” menu in “Settings” in RaceHub.
  3. Look if a “Game setup” guide is available here.

Rotary switches not assigning correctly in game

If the rotary switches on your steering wheel does not register correctly in your game, it is most likely because they are set up incorrectly in RaceHub.

  1. Go to the “Button Configuration” menu in the “Steering Wheel” menu in RaceHub.
  2. Select one or more of the rotary switches on the steering wheel.
  3. Under “Input Mode” change the setting to either “Position Based” or “Incremental” depending on your needs and preference.
  • Position Based = Each position is its own unique input.
  • Incremental = Right is one input, Left is another input.

Steering wheel turns off

If your steering wheel turns off shortly after being installed on the wheelbase/being turned on, it can be due to damaged pins on the wheelbase QR. Spare PCBAs can be ordered from here.

You can find a “How-To” video regarding the replacement here.

Clutch paddles does not work on my La Prima steering wheel

The Clutch Paddles and Magnetic Input paddles are only compatible with the Asetek Forte wheels.
