Setup: SimHub Features

Updated on October 17, 2024

This guide will take you through the process of setting up RaceHub to receive data from SimHub, as well as how to set up your Asetek Steering Wheel in SimHub.

(Please be aware: While SimHub has almost endless possibilities for displays and LED configurations, this guide will only go over the basics. For anything regarding features and settings beyond this guide, we refer to SimHub’s Discord channel.)

Before starting, make sure your steering wheel is updated with the newest firmware, and that you have the newest version of both RaceHub and SimHub installed on your PC.

Using SimHub for controlling the Display

First we will be setting up RaceHub to allow SimHub to control the display on the steering wheel.

  1. Open RaceHub and go to the “Display” menu on the left.
  2. Click the “Layout” dropdown and choose “SimHub”. (as a good precaution, make sure to back up your custom profiles)
  3. Under “Extra” to the right, choose if you wish to still have the RaceHub Flag and Car Assist Notifications overlaid on your SimHub display.

Now that RaceHub is set up, we open SimHub.

  1. Go to the “Devices” menu on the left and click the “Add device” button.
  2. A menu will open with a list of supported devices. Search for “Asetek” and click the “Asetek RaceHub LEDs and display” and click “ok”.
  3. The menu you are now seeing, is from where you can modify your RaceHub LEDs and display. In the picture, the dropdown menu for choosing which SimHub dashboard you wish to be shown on your display, is highlighted.

Using SimHub for controlling the Flag and RPM LED’s

First we will be setting up RaceHub to allow SimHub to control the LEDs on the steering wheel. Since RaceHub controls them as Flag LEDs and RPM LEDs separately, we will need to do this in two places.

  1. Open RaceHub and go to the “Steering Wheel” menu on the left. Then click the “Shift Lights” tab.
  2. Click the dropdown menu and choose “SimHub”. (as a good precausion, make sure to back up your custom profiles)
  3. Then, go to the “LED” menu on the left. Then click the “Flags” tab.
  4. At the bottom under “Steering Wheel Mode” choose “SimHub”.

Now that RaceHub is set up, we open SimHub.

  1. Go to the “Devices” menu on the left and click the “Add device” button.
  2. A menu will open with a list of supported devices. Find and click the “Asetek RaceHub LEDs and display” and click “ok”.
  3. The menu you are now seeing (under the “LEDs” tab) is from where you can customize both the RPM and Flag LEDs on the steering wheel, as well as other settings that we will not go into in this guide.

(Please be aware: While SimHub has almost endless possibilities for displays and LED configurations, this guide will only go over the basics. Regarding settings beyond this guide, we refer to SimHub’s support channels.)
