(Updated for RaceHub 4.0)
If speaking Swedish makes IKEA furniture assemble itself, then speaking Danish might just make your sim rig put itself together and automatically configure all your wheelbase settings. Our force-feedback wizard has returned with the perfect settings for your favorite simulator, BeamNG.drive — a game that excels in soft-body physics, rallying, road- and track racing, and car-crashing mayhem.
While the game is incredibly realistic when it comes to the inner and outer workings of all types of cars, getting the right settings is crucial—and we’ve got you covered! Remember that these settings are intended to be a stepping stone for further fine-tuning. Try our settings and adjust them according to your preferences.
This setup has been created to suit all three of our wheelbases. However, we will provide specific settings for specific wheelbases in certain cases.
Steering Range: 1800° (you will match this with the in-game settings below)
Damping: 7% (The game can get very violent with the FFB, so 7% will be fitting for whatever might happen.)
Overall Force (Forte and Invicta Wheelbases): 14 Nm
La Prima: 12.0 Nm (The La Prima Wheelbase is slightly less powerful than the others, so we’ve turned it to its maximum. This setting is very much up to personal preference, so make sure to finetune it to your liking.)
Bumpstop Hardness: Medium
Friction: 0%
Torque Behavior Prediction: Off
Bumpstop Range: 0°
Inertia: 0%
Torque Acceleration Limit: 3.0 Nm/ms
High Frequency Limit: No Limit
Cornering Force Assist: 0%
Anti-Oscillation: 0%
Now you’re all set in RaceHub.
Let’s look at the in-game settings in BeamNG.
In ‘Options’, go to ‘Controls’ -> ‘Force Feedback’ – here you will find headline ‘Steering (axis/mouse)’
Change the following:
Steering angle: 1800° (same as in RaceHub settings)
1:1 behaviour: Normal
Inverted Axis: Unchecked
Linearity: 1
Deadzone (rest): 0
Deadzone (end): 0
Afterwards, roll down to ‘Force Feedback Configuration’.
Enabled: Check
Inverted: Unchecked
Strength: (for Forte and Invicta Wheelbases): 140
Strength: (for La Prima Wheelbase): 150
Steering lock strength: 34%
Side acceleration strength: 0%
Reduce Strength while parked: Checked
Use Logitech features: Unchecked
Smoothing: 20%
We suggest that users finetune this. Raising the value may for example result in a loss of the feeling of when the car oversteer, while lowering it may make the FFB more violent.
At 20 it is possible to feel and control oversteer, but for some cars it may get too uncontrollable. If it gets too uncontrollable, we suggest trying 30% or 40%. Experiment with this value for different cars.
Automatic secondary smoothing: Checked
Update rate: Automatic
Update type: Fast
Use response Correction Curve: Unchecked
